Our Story

MGD Farm Inc all began with a group of 3 childhood friends who lived in a small hockey/farming town of 500 people, where we played pond hockey and chucked hay bales as a way of life. Even though we all took different paths in life and lived in different parts of Canada, we all knew that one day we would be back together again.

Fast forward through raising families, and having successful careers we were in a position to purchase 151 acres of farmland in the beautiful mountains of British Columbia together.

In 2015, our land was affected by the Rock Creek forest fire, causing substantial damage to the trees and property. We formed MGD (Maynard, Gosselin, Dubois) Farm Inc and began to clean up and rebuild the land.

MGD Farm

MGD Farm is committed to replanting trees to replenish the natural environment to support animal growth and wellness. We grow potatoes, onions, radishes, carrots & garlic and support local farmers with agreements to allow their cattle to range on our land.

Farmhouse Butchery

When local farmers expressed the need for more cut and wrap facilities in our area the idea for Farmhouse Butchery transpired. We quickly went from the initial idea to research, planning & implementation and the rest is history!

Our Vision

You will find Farmhouse Butchery & MGD Farm nestled along the Kettle River and the Kettle Valley Rail Trail in the small community of Westbridge B.C. As a small multi-family business, we believe in the value of community.

Our vision is to create a one stop butcher shop with a welcoming atmosphere and personalized service, where our customers feel like family. We are passionate about supporting local to help our community thrive and grow. We will provide you with fresh quality local products that you can savor at your own table with loved ones and friends and be proud to say that it comes from your local Farmhouse Butchery!

The Lead Butcher:

Kyle Klumpp

Farmhouse Manager

Kyle is a long-time resident of the Rock Creek area who is well known for his experience in farming, hunting & guiding. Kyle has provided guiding services to people from around the world for anything from small game to world class trophy animals. He has vast experience in the meat industry from ranching & hunting to meat processing. He treats all animals with care and compassion and is well versed in animal anatomy.

Before joining Farmhouse Butchery, Kyle expanded his expertise in the meat processing industry through experience working in a cut & wrap shop and abattoir with an exceptional butcher.

If Kyle is not in in the shop or tending our animals you will find him in his garden, hunting, fishing, trapping or doing any outdoor activity.

Kyle is excited to work with Farmhouse Butchery customers to provide them with high quality products.

We are an adventurous family who are passionate about travel and the great outdoors. When we are not at the Farmhouse you can find us spending time with our family, friends and two crazy dogs (Roxy & Diesel). Our children, Andon and Danica are extremely academic and athletic individuals. They keep us all busy playing hockey, hiking, swimming, kayaking, golfing, skiing, fishing and hunting.

We come from large families who have a history of successful businesses ranging from farms, bakery’s, restaurants and hotels. We both had rewarding careers and have volunteered for a variety of different organizations.

We are very excited to support our local farmers/ranchers, homesteaders and neighbours while delivering high quality products and services to our customers. We look forward to having you stop in to say “Hello”. You may enter the Farmhouse as a stranger but will return as a friend!

The Gosselin Family
Pat, Carolyn, Brayden, Mason & Kyra

Hey! We are the Gosselin’s, established in 2011. We (Pat and Carolyn) have since grown our family with three kids; Brayden, Mason and Kyra. In 2017, we found ourselves pregnant with our third child and in a position to move from the city back to Pat’s little hometown and to make a number of other changes in our life including starting a new business venture. What perfect timing it was when the Maynard and Dubois families found themselves in similar situations. Together, we excitedly purchased the land in Westbridge BC, and there began MGD Farm. We are thankful to provide such an opportunity for our family, happy to grow closer with such great friends and have this enchanting place where our children and families can bond through work and play!

Research & Development

The Dubois Family
Guy, Stella, Xavier, Miguel & Sophie

We are a driven oriented family that love being outdoors doing various activities. We especially enjoy fishing, hunting, camping, riding our quads and spending time with our family and friends around a bonfire. Our boys Xavier and Miguel love playing hockey and Sophie enjoys dance and gymnastics all in our small town of St-Malo Manitoba.

Our families settled in Manitoba where agriculture was a large part of our family history. Throughout the years our families raised dairy and beef cows to support local businesses in Manitoba. This provided our family with experience in the agriculture and meat industry.

When the opportunity presented itself to support local farmers in British Columbia our family took the opportunity to return to our agricultural roots. This business adventure has allowed us to reconnect with long-time friends who we consider family. Although we are not at the Farmhouse daily, we are available to all our customers in many ways. Our role within the Farmhouse is research and development so we can evolve with the ever-growing needs of our customers and local farmers.
